Pedro Acosta uses one startling word to describe KTM’s performance at the Americas Grand Prix

KTM suffered their worst result of the season so far at the Grand Prix of the Americas and it confirms that they still have plenty of work to do on their MotoGP bike to be competitive this season.

A far better result was on the table in COTA, however, Brad Binder suffered a mechanical failure while fighting for fifth and Pedro Acosta fell off his bike at turn one while in the top 10.

The conditions played in KTM’s favour and they managed to find a way to make mistakes and let their rivals take advantage of the opportunities on offer.

Prior to Sunday, the Grand Prix of the Americas weekend had been a constant reminder of their struggles to date. A lack of winter development has hurt them.

Acosta says KTM are affected by a ‘brutal’ factor and is desperate for the team to fix a vibration problem which is hurting them at every circuit.

Maverick Vinales has been trying to avoid saying one thing about KTM – he doesn’t believe that their chances of winning one of the remaining 19 races this season look good at all.

Pedro Acosta labels KTM’s Grand Prix of the Americas performance ‘evil’

With 19 races of the MotoGP calendar to go this season, there is plenty of time to make up for any lost ground.

Their riders won’t have patience forever though. The European leg of the season needs to bring some improvements to the bike and the issues they face.

If they cannot develop in a positive direction, they risk losing their superstar rider Acosta to a rival. The 20-year-old wants to win now.

Speaking to Diario AS, the Spaniard delivered a frank and short assessment of the team’s weekend in Texas: “Evil.”

Acosta has urged KTM to understand their 2025 bike and why it likes to change so much, so often. He needs a more consistent baseline to be able to deliver better results.

Aleix Espargaro sends Pedro Acosta four-word message of encouragement after tough start

After Marc Marquez’s Grand Prix of the Americas crash, the door was opened for the first different winner this year as Francesco Bagnaia claimed a comfortable victory.

For the sixth time this campaign, Alex Marquez claimed second place and the lead in the riders’ championship, despite still awaiting his maiden MotoGP victory.

The work he has been doing on Gresini’s Ducati machine is admirable, and a true example of just how much potential he has always had. Nepotism is no longer a discussion.

Acosta has been viewed as the next big thing for a while now, but he hasn’t been in a position to emulate the success of his elders.

Fellow countryman Aleix Espargaro sent him a four-word message of encouragement on Instagram after his tough weekend: “Never give up chaval!”

He has the support network around him, now it’s time for him to deliver an important result for both his team and himself.
