Marc Marquez continued his dominant start to the 2025 MotoGP season by winning the Argentina Grand Prix.
Despite having not raced at the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo since 2019, everyone in the paddock expected Marquez to win in Argentina.
That is exactly what the Ducati rider did as he claimed pole position and victory in the Sprint and Grand Prix. Marquez has had a clean sweep in the opening two races and has built a 16-point lead over brother Alex Marquez.
However, Argentina was not as smooth as Thailand for the 32-year-old. He ran wide on lap four and handed the lead to his younger brother. The Gresini rider managed to maintain a strong pace, forcing the factory Ducati to push and fight for the win.
With five laps to go, Marc Marquez retook the lead from Alex and held on for his second win in Ducati red. The manufacturer locked out the top five in Argentina in another dominant display in MotoGP.

Carlo Pernat warns he cannot see ‘any other result’ than a Marc Marquez win on a Ducati in 2025
But in 2025 thus far, it has been the same rider at the front of the field. After just two races, Marquez does not look like he can be dethroned.
That is what Carlo Pernat has warned the Spaniard’s rivals of. Speaking with GPOne, Enea Bastianini’s former manager thinks there may not be ‘any other result’ with the ‘phenomenon’ of Marquez on the best bike.

“Galactic Marc Marquez, stellar Alex Marquez, this needs to be said. They are the two brothers who are monopolising MotoGP just like Ducati is monopolising it.
“Back to the old days, top five spots, five Ducatis. I believe that things have changed very little compared to last year despite the various concessions, despite the money invested by Aprilia, Yamaha and Honda, but not by KTM, unfortunately due to the financial situation.
“I believe that if we keep going like this, the championship will take a turn, good for Marc and bad for the show.
“He really got himself back in shape, the old Marquez is back. He worked a lot on his fitness and then if you put a phenomenon like Marquez on the best bike, I don’t think there can be any other result than this.
“If you’ve noticed, Marquez doesn’t crash anymore. Very clean riding in my opinion, he has worked, I repeat, a lot on his fitness, on his shoulder, on the injuries he had and now it’s really difficult, truly.
“Beating him is not to say almost impossible.”

Is Marc Marquez secretly struggling on his Ducati?
Despite a dominant start to the 2025 season, Marquez has been privately voicing his discomfort on the GP25.
In the Thailand Sprint, despite not losing his lead, Marquez told Ducati he felt slow during the race. His 2025 challenger still needs to be fine-tuned with the engine and aero being carried over from 2024.
Neil Hodgson shared Marquez had been saying he was not ‘comfortable’ on the bike in Argentina. His mistake on lap four may prove that theory, but he was still able to regain the lead and win.
If Marquez is putting in these performances when he is not fully comfortable with the bike, his potential when he is will be terrifying. The next race at Austin is almost certain to be another win for the six-time MotoGP champion.
