Miguel Oliveira just aimed one ‘brutal’ comment at Trackhouse Racing after latest MotoGP test

Miguel Oliveira has landed a new opportunity for the 2025 season as he joins the reigning champions Pramac.

It follows a miserable campaign with Trackhouse Racing, where he could only manage a best result of sixth and a 15th place standing in the riders’ championship.

The American team’s debut season in MotoGP was a fairly miserable affair as they struggled to perform on the Aprilia bike.

They haven’t started the new season too well either, with Trackhouse shockingly unable to afford a photographer for their 2025 launch.

New rider Ai Ogura started promisingly at the Sepang test, and it looks as though his team may have found a promising replacement for the experience they lost when Oliveira left.

Trackhouse are privately ‘loving’ that Ogura is critical of himself and it could help them find some extra gains as they push to extract more from their package.

Miguel Oliveira ‘laughed’ at Trackhouse’s MotoGP team after Pramac question

Although Oliveira is making a definite step in the right direction, Pramac have just ended their partnership with Ducati and will use a Yamaha bike in 2025.

This means the reigning champions won’t have access to the equipment that helped them and Jorge Martin get to the title last season.

Some MotoGP rivals feel ‘really strongly’ about Yamaha after the Sepang test. They have clearly made improvements to their machinery over the winter.

When asked about whether his new team feels like a factory operation, Oliveira simply laughed and took a dig at Trackhouse.

“Someone asked Miguel Oliveira if Pramac felt like a factory team this year as the reigning world champions and he just laughed,” said Simon Patterson.

“‘Do you know where I was last year?’ Which is brutal to Trackhouse, the amount of technical DNFs they had it kind of makes sense.”

What led Miguel Oliveira to join Pramac for 2025?

Oliveira’s MotoGP career started well with an impressive stint at KTM, where he took his first three race victories.

For 2023, he made a move to the Malaysian team RNF Racing, which became Trackhouse’s entry for 2024. They repeatedly breached and infracted the Participation Agreement.

Trackhouse’s deal with Aprilia will see them on the MotoGP grid until at least the end of the 2026 season, when KTM may fall off due to financial issues too.

It ties in with the start of the new bike regulations the season after, but Trackhouse may want to hang around for a bit longer yet.

They have a promising young rookie this season, and some positive results may help to convince them that they can be a contender for race victories in the future.
