Jack Miller has made the move to Pramac Racing for the 2025 MotoGP season after departing from the factory KTM team.
Pramac come into this season off the back of leading Jorge Martin to the 2024 title with Ducati. The Spaniard became the first independent team rider to win the championship in the premier class.
The 26-year-old was looking to join the factory team alongside Francesco Bagnaia for 2025, but the seat went to Marc Marquez. Pramac chief Fonsi Nieto says Marquez’s ‘beastly’ pull as a six-time champion was the reason Ducati snubbed Martin for the seat.
The defending champion has opted to leave Ducati altogether as he becomes a factory Aprilia rider in 2025. Pramac will also enter new pastures as they too part ways with the Italian manufacturer to enter a deal with Yamaha.

Fausto Marcieira says Pramac signed Jack Miller as it is important for Dorna to have an Australian in the sport
The Tuscany-based team’s decision to become Yamaha’s satellite team is an unprecedented one given the lack of power and performance the manufacturer has with their bikes compared to Ducati.
Pramac will run an entirely new rider line-up with Miller joining from KTM and Miguel Oliveira moving across from Aprillia satellite team Trackhouse Racing.
The duo endured challenging 2024 seasons as they finished 14th and 15th respectively in the Riders’ Championship. And it could be set to get even harder given they are both setting off better-performing bikes to join Yamaha.
Speaking on the Motorsport Brasil YouTube channel, Fausto Marcieira has ‘some hopes’ for Oliveira at Pramac, but he cannot say the same for Miller.
He says that the team signed the Aussie as it is important for them to have a rider outside of Europe, and the Australian Grand Prix is vital for Dorna’s structure.
“So, the group that is arriving, I have some hope for Miguel Oliveira. I don’t have much hope for Jack Miller,” he said.
“I think it’s an arrangement because it’s good to have a rider outside of Europe. The Australian Grand Prix is important with the Dorna structure. It also receives the superbike, so I don’t have much hope for Miller.
“He rode very badly on the KTM and he is irregular and falls.”

Can Jack Miller improve with Yamaha in 2025?
Miller was outclassed by KTM teammate Brad Binder last season. While the latter grabbed two podiums, failed to score points only three times and finished fifth in the standings, the former was only inside the top 10 three times.
The Aussie will be under pressure in 2025 to find performance and teammate Oliveira will provide strong competition at Pramac.
The factory Yamaha will also be desperate to improve their fortunes as they retain their 2024 riders. Fabio Quartararo was consistently in the points last year but struggled to find the top results, grabbing a best finish of sixth at Malaysia.
Teammate Alex Rins suffered a dismal 2024 campaign as he scored points irregularly. The Spaniard too registered his best finish at Malaysia with eighth – the second time he was in the top 10 all year.
