Jack Miller is preparing for his 11th season on the MotoGP grid, but the new Pramac rider admits a rival still ‘scares’ the Australian and the rest of the premier class field.
The 29-year-old has raced with the MotoGP field since the 2015 season when LCR plucked Miller up straight from Moto3. Since then, he has penned 177 Grand Prix entries resulting in four race wins, 23 podiums and two pole positions across Miller’s premier class career so far.
Miller has also raced against a host of MotoGP icons such as Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo to more recent greats in Andrea Dovizioso, Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin. Yet the Townsville, Queensland native is still afraid of one rival at their outright best.

Jack Miller admits Marc Marquez ‘scares’ the MotoGP grid
Plenty of riders on the 2025 MotoGP grid boast race-winning records or the potential to get on the top step of a podium. But few can strike fear in their rivals as much as Marquez, who Miller also admits gave the 2024 field ‘a lesson’ with his victory at the Grand Prix of Aragon.
Marquez produced a dominant weekend at MotorLand Aragon last year to record his debut Sprint and Grand Prix victories riding a Ducati following the 31-year-old’s move from Honda to Gresini. The Grand Prix of Aragon marked round 12 of the 20 staged over the 2024 term.

Switching from only riding factory Honda bikes to a year-old Ducati Desmosedici GP23 with Gresini proved to be a great fit for Marquez, who stood on four Grand Prix podiums before winning at Aragon. But his dominance at Aragon proved for Miller why rivals fear Marquez.
“From the first free practice session to the race on Sunday, he gave us a lesson in how to ride at Aragon,” Miller said, via quotes by Motorsport. “It felt like 2015, 2016 [and] 2017 when he was [dominant] there. It was classic Marc.
“He looked good with the bike. The following Monday, I watched the sessions again, including the race. I realised that he had everything under control. He scares the rest of us because we know how dominant he can be when he is comfortable and healthy.”
Marc Marquez has won four more Grand Prix at Aragon than any MotoGP rider

As well as proving for Miller why rivals fear the six-time premier class champion, it also gave further justification for Ducati’s decision to sign Marquez for 2025. His victory further added to Marquez’s dominance at MotorLand Aragon since the circuit first staged MotoGP in 2010.
No rider to date is as successful at Aragon as Marquez, who has seven wins including six in the premier class – four more than any rider in MotoGP history. His success at the track also saw Marquez claim pole position for the 2024 Grand Prix of Aragon by 0.840 seconds to P2.
Marquez did not record the best maximum speed in qualifying at Aragon, either, aboard his year-old Ducati Desmosedici GP23. But the harmony he built with the bike at a track he also thrives at saw Marquez win the Sprint by 2.961s to Martin, then by 4.789s in the Grand Prix.
