Roberto Rolfo now chooses who is more error-prone between Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia

Both Marc Marquez are Francesco Bagnaia are set to be teammates with the factory Ducati outfit in 2025, forming one of the most explosive MotoGP pairings of all time.

The two fell short of the title in 2024 as Jorge Martin claimed his first triumph despite claiming eight fewer victories than Pecco.

Marquez has taken the reigning champion’s seat at Ducati and will receive a chance to compete for a record seventh title.

He achieved the last of his crowns back in 2019 but has struggled to return to his former glory over the past few seasons.

Last year there were signs that he may be able to deliver devastating form still and having a GP25 bike will give him the chance to showcase that in the future.

He will have to overcome a Bagnaia who is near the top of his game though and is attempting to win a third title in four seasons.

Marc Marquez is more ‘prone to error’ than Francesco Bagnaia

Marquez won the same number of races as eventual champion Martin in 2024 but made a few more errors overall.

It’s something which he needs to eliminate from his races if he is to challenge for the title, something which Roberto Rolfo reiterated to Motosprint.

“It will be an extremely interesting challenge. First of all, in terms of management, Pecco remains the best,” he said.

“Marc is probably faster than Bagnaia, but I see him prone to error. Perhaps the inaccuracies on Marc of 2024 are attributable to the unofficial Desmosedici, unlike the GP24 in Bagnaia.

“Now, however, Marc has the Factory bike, so he can aim for the title. How? Limiting mistakes and slips in important moments. Pecco, despite the failures shown this year, is more solid than the Spanish.”

Can Jorge Martin defend his MotoGP title from Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez?

It will be virtually impossible for Martin to defend his title now that he is Aprilia Racing’s leader and not a Ducati rider.

They’ve won on just four occasions over the last three seasons and have failed to finish any higher than 4th in the Riders’ Championship.

2025 will also mark the first time that the factory outfit have run only two bikes after deciding to downsize.

Pecco has already admitted that the GP25 bike is an improvement on last year’s iteration and means that a miracle may be required for Martin to defend his crown.
