Rins falls off and is out for the weekend already

2021’s top gravel-magnet Alex Rins has been ruled out of his home GP due injuries he sustained riding a pushbike on a racetrack today.

Rins, who has fallen off in every race we can remember this year, was apparently having a friendly race with a group of local boys when the incident occurred.

“He was looking strong for at least a podium position” explained one eyewitness “Then he lowsided and fell off.  He stood up and immediately claimed that there must have been an issue with his bicycle as he’d taken that corner at the same speed every other lap.”

After a quick siesta the Spaniard was urgently rushed to Barcelona’s Universitari Dexeus Hospital where it was revealed he’d fractured his radius bone – whatever one of those is.  As yet Suzuki are to reveal to what extent his haircut also suffered in the tarmac tussle.

However cynics believe that Rins maybe just skiving work and that his injuries are not as bad as he’s claiming.  Suzuki apparently told the multi-bruised Spaniard after the Mugello race that his contract would be void if he crashed again this weekend in Spain so dodging the race might have been a great way for him to stay with the team.

The late nature of the spill means Suzuki will only have one rider at Catalunya as Rins will not be replaced.

“Because we’ve already shipped a load of spare fairings for Alex the obvious choice would be to contact Cal Crutchlow” stated our Suzuki man who looks like Paul Denning “But sadly he’s contracted to Yamaha.  We could have asked Jorge Lorenzo as he’s available but we all agreed as a team that none of us like him very much so would rather just have one rider.”
