Your selected Winner: Johann Zarco (26%)
Betting on the French to win anything but onion-sulking tournament is always a risky strategy. But everyone’s least favourite country brought home the baguettes last time out in Qatar and delivered us a frankly shocking 1-2.
Zarco, alas, was ‘only’ second. But it was a great gamble that almost paid off.
Actual Winner: Fabio Quartararo (8%)
Fabio’s odorous abilities were on your radar…but only just. Your votes had the Factory Yamaha rider in 6th place for the win. However this is full excusable as naming Zarco as favourite as the last time two Frenchmen succeeded in anything brave was before the first French census manuscript of 1328.
Special Mention: I don’t actually reckon Mick Doohan was any good. He was on the best bike and all the other riders were pretty rubbish (14%)
Mick Doohan will always be most fondly remembered for starting a fight with a bouncer outside a strip club in Darwin. But apart from that he was actually also quite a successful GP500 rider. But was it all down to his bike and racing poor-quality rivals? 14% of you think so.
