"Rossi was all over the golden child in a way that Italian's fat waster of friend could only dream of "... Five Stars for that comment alone! LOL!

And yep, that photo of Mick is a classic, that image is forever burned in my brain as I am sure it is for many, many others!

"As irrelevant as a trombone is to a newborn hedgehog." Awesome race. Bizarre analogy. I played trombone and have never even seen a movie with The Hedgehog in it. In fact, I wasn't aware Ron Jeremy played trombone. Nor raced. That race was so good I've almost forgiven Simon for stopping a lap early. Um, no I haven't. The only thing that could top this weekend's race is Edwards and Hayden dueling to the win at Assen again. Yeah, that'll happen.

Somebody once asked Erv Kanemoto the difference between Freddie Spencer, Wayne Gardner and Eddie Lawson and some of the lesser riders he had worked with. Erv's reply was (paraphrased) I don't know what it is about second place, but it sure scares them worse than the stuff they have to do to win.

Great race, great review

Most awesome report for a race like I never thought I'd see again since the demise of the 990's. There was even some good battles behind. Dozi almost got that podium,
Loris got the better of Dani, and I think a couple more.

For surely, I also thought it was gonna end in tears. If not for both of them, then for surely Lunatic. Take note Thumbelina. That's how you pass your teammate without duffing him up. Classic finish, and the vaunted Duck wasn't even in the same picture as the two Fiats.

Great race, great write up except for one glaring error.

No one, ever, had ever passed there.

No one except Rossi perhaps. I'm pretty sure he stuck the exact same pass on Casey two years ago which left Stoner with a look on his face like a shrew licking piss of a nettle.
Much whining along the lines of 'I mean, you know, some of the passing was, you know, a bit much, you know.'

Good to see Lorenzo take it like a man.

Mr Prod is right. Rossi passed Stoner there in '07 during the race but he wasn't close enough that time on the last lap. He knew he could do it. Was a bit sqirrelly (apologies to Kevin Schwantz) wasn't it.

We get these races at bedtime in Oz and I really have dozed off a few times, but not this time.

That was amazing! I looked like mjrydesfast's avatar during the last lap. I also like how Stuey brought the potty humor only to have mjrydesfast bust out the porn references. That's synergy!

My favorite part was how ridiculously low and off the side Lorenzo was hanging off his bike as he picked it up out of turns. Crazy is as crazy does I guess.

What a classic, even if it was just amongst two riders. For surely, it even beats Rossi's moves on Stoner at Laguna if only because Stoner caved in to Vale's constant pressure and passes. This one was decided on the last lap's last corner. More, please.
